Snackies

:Hong Kong Street Food:

Hong Kong is well-known for the diverse and delicious cuisine off and on the streets. Here are some of my personal favorites.

Shiu mai -a well-known dim sum treat. Around $1.2 a bowl of 12.

The ones you get on the street are usually made with fish meat unlike the pork meat shiu mais you get at dimsum. The fish meat ones are usually accompanied by soya sauce and hot sauce. They even sell microwave ones in 7/11.

Hong Kong style egg waffles, my personal favorite. $1.2 per bag.

It’s a very ancient street snack that’s been passed on in the Hong Kong culture. I guess it just never lost its popularity =]. They’re sold everywhere on the streets, there are some famous ones such as the one right across of Time Square, which are very crispy but not very sweet. So, depending on your own taste, you may find different stores better.

Hong Kong style calamari – deep fried octopus legs, pepper and salt. $2 a bag.

I’m just going to go ahead and say they’re delicious artery cloggers.
